Maurine Michelle Santiago

Maurine Michelle (Ronk) Santiago, 59, of Auburn, California, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, following a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Carmichael, California, to Dennis and Suzy (Shanley) Ronk, Maurine was raised in Auburn, where she built a life rooted in community, shaped by nature, and guided by a deep sense of care for others.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, David, and her children, Cole and Olivia, who carry forward her spirit of compassion, strength, and quiet faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Ronk, and her grandparents, Pat and Mary Shanley.

She was known for her love of the outdoors, her adventurous spirit and unconditional compassion and kindness for others and her dedication to the nursing profession and her colleagues at the UC Davis Medical Center. Throughout her cancer journey, she remained a source of light for those around her, facing her illness with grace and courage.

A service to honor Maurine’s life will be held at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Auburn, Ca on Thursday, April 30, 2026, 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you celebrate her life by planting something that grows; whether a tree, a garden, or a simple plant, honoring her deep faith, her caring spirit and her love of God’s creation.
