It was a fitting end for “the little Christmas boy”, (“Natalino” in Italian), who was born in San Francisco a few minutes before midnight on Christmas Eve 1922, at home of his parents, Filippo and Delizia Giuliani. In 1943 his parents moved to Roseville, where Nat attended Roseville High, before continuing his education at Placer Junior College. While in school he played football, basketball, baseball and boxed. He served in WWII as a radio operator and was stationed in Italy, Scotland and England. June 15, 1947 Nat married Delia Bartolai, his wife of 67 years at St. Joseph’s Church. They lived in Auburn where Nat opened an army surplus store in Old Town. Later, his clothing store, “Nat’s Men’s Wear” was relocated near Auburn Central Square until its closure in 2000. Nat served on Auburn City Council, was member of numerous organizations: Knight of Columbus, ICF, Auburn Sirs, and Auburn Elk’s lodge for 66 years. He was an active Catholic at St. Joseph’s Parish. Nat enjoyed everything in life and wore a constant smile to prove it. His inviting charm, smiling blue eyes, and mischievous smile, welcomed conversation. Nat’s stories made it hard to leave his company. He traveled the world, vacationed in Santa Cruz with family, swam, gardened, and appreciated the beauty of flowers, trees, etc. but mostly people- his lovely wife, children and grandchildren - attending most of their events. Natalino is survived by his wife, Delia Giuliani, his 3 children Robert Giuliani (Sandy Boyd) of Grass Valley, Sandy Amara (Dirk Amara) Auburn, Mary Ann Collins (Chris Collins) Auburn, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
