

Roger Lord born Mary 27, 1960 in Auburn, California, passed away on June 6, 2020. Roger grew up in Auburn with sibling Drew, Craig, and Linda and parents Andrew “Andy” Lord and Helen Holliday Lord. Roger was named after his father’s World War II Air Force bomber group known as the “Jolly Rogers”. In true Auburn spirt, the family was heavily involved with the Local community and stayed in the foothills for the majority of their lives.
Roger graduated from Placer High School in 1978 where he also participated in football and track. A first generation college student, Roger attended Sacramento State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Economics. His career spanned many industries, beginning with late nights after school at his father’s print shop in Downtown Auburn. Roger continued as a Retail Store Manager before taking positions at U.S. Bank, Placer County Water Agency, The City of Roseville, and Best Buy.
Roger enjoyed most the simplicities in life. His favorite activities included gardening; morning coffee runs, spending time with friends and family, and jamming out to his favorite bands including Nirvana and The Beatles.
Roger was also a devoted and loving father and stepfather to Justin and Tara Williams. In May of 2000 he was welcomed his daughter Sabrina Lord who was the most important part of his life. He raised Sabrina in Auburn with the help of his mother Helen Lord. He supported her throughout her childhood and young adulthood where he aided her in academic and career goals while encouraging her to find happiness in her work.
