

Steven Roland Fall, 70, of Applegate, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at Kaiser Roseville Hospital on Saturday, March 16, 2024 following a six year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Steve was born on June 27, 1953 to Navy Private 1st Class, William "Bill" R. Fall and Priscilla E. Fall in Kittery, Maine. His family moved cross country to Pacifica in 1955.
Steve graduated from Pacifica's Oceana High School in 1971, went on to study Communication at San Mateo Junior College, which he applied to his 50+ years career in the grocery business. Steve began as a Bagger, quickly promoting to Journey Clerk, at Brentwood Market in Pacifica. He continued on to Pak 'n Save in Citrus Heights, and finally, Safeway in Auburn. Ever the gregarious and knowledgeable produce expert, Steve was always quick with a smile and a story. He retired December 31, 2019.
At various times, Steve also proudly served his local community as an insurance agent, a volunteer firefighter and First Responder for the Placer Hills Fire Department, and a Scout and student activities chauffeur. He lived life duty bound to "love thy neighbor" and "the golden rule" of treating others with respect, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, co-workers and neighbors.
Steve and Candy secretly first noticed each other in grade school. After many years of mutual friends and Acapella Choir they began dating in 1973. They married in 1975 and went on to have two wonderful children, Nichole and Brandon Fall. A true love story, Steve and Candy remained steadfast, by each other's side, supporting and loving one another until Steve's last breath.
In his free time, Steve thrived on mechanical and carpentry DIY projects, and was an avid bicyclist and motorcyclist. His happy places were the Pacific Ocean, Lake Tahoe, and Bald Rock Feather Falls.
Steve loved traveling. He was always excited to explore the great outdoors, new places, and new cultures with his family. From Homer, Alaska to Atlanta, Georgia Steve LIVED a life enriched by Niagara Falls, Feather Falls, questionable laser shows, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Hawaiian Luaus and molten lava, thousands of scenic views, hundreds of museums, visiting with locals, and eating as many new foods as he could.
Steve was predeceased by his parents, and youngest sister, Michelle Louise Fall. He is survived by his spouse, Candy A. (Gentle) Fall, 69, of Applegate; and two children Nichole M. (Fall) Ellis, 44, of Olympia, Washington, and Brandon R. Fall , 41, of Applegate; three sisters, Miriam Martin of Groveland, Elaine (Len) Sanches of Livermore, and Carol Toscano of Elk Grove.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Hills on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at Pioneer United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers , the family requests donations be made to Lewy Body Dementia research at www.LBDA.org/donate
