William Karl Boklund

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Boklund, on January 12, 2025. Bill was born in San Francisco, California, on November 23, 1944. He is predeceased by his mother, Maria Boklund and his father, Karl Boklund.

Bill was a beloved husband, cherished uncle, cousin, and friend, and a vibrant presence in the lives of all who knew him. He was married to the love of his life, Kathleen, for an incredible 54 years, sharing a bond that was the envy of many.

Bill was a passionate San Francisco Giants fan, never missing a televised game and making his way to Candlestick Park, Pac Bell Park, AT&T Park, and Oracle Park at least twice a year. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he could often be found regaling friends and family with tales of his favorite players and memorable matches.

Music was another of Bill's great loves, especially country music. A regular listener and enthusiastic visitor of 101.9 the Wolf, he found joy in the melodies and stories that country songs conveyed. His passion extended to his impressive collection of vinyl LPs, which he curated with care during regular visits to Cherry Records and the Audio Nerd.

A natural jokester, Bill brightened the lives of those around him with his humor. He had a knack for storytelling, often sharing amusing anecdotes about his dreams, piano playing, line dancing, and friendly baseball rivalries. His laughter was contagious, and his hugs were warm and comforting.

Bill's love for his wife, nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandnieces, grandnephews and friends was unparalleled. He took great joy in their lives, always attending family gatherings and celebrating achievements with pride.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community that knew him. His love, humor, and generous spirit have left an indelible mark on our hearts. As we reflect on his life, we celebrate the wonderful memories and the joy he brought to us all. Rest in peace, Bill; you will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
