Rita Volek was born in Akron, OH to Vincent Brinkman and Mary Metz. Married to the late, Joseph Volek for 62 years and survived by son, John Volek (Vicki). Beloved grandmother to Joseph (Dina), Heather (Scott), and Billy Volek. Great-grandmother to Courtney, Cole, Christopher, Calvin, Morgan, Carter, Cade, and Benett. Family and friends brightened her days and she loved life in Auburn. She worked at Lincoln Way School for twenty years. Rita traveled to family sporting events and Navy reunions with WWII buddies yearly. Rita passed surrounded by her loving family. Her life will be celebrated on Monday, January 13 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 11600 Atwood Rd., Auburn. Rosary at 10:30 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Graveside Service to follow at New Auburn Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive.
