David R. Lamb, age 80, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on February 4, 2025.
David was born on December 19, 1944, in Crossville, Alabama, and moved to Detroit at a young age, where he built a life filled with dedication, resilience, and love. He married Mary Jane Lanfear in 1965, and together they raised three children while he pursued his education. David earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wayne State University, demonstrating his lifelong dedication to learning and professional growth.
David had a long and distinguished career in learning and development within business organizations. He served as head of training for numerous major companies, including General Motors, General Motors Training, ADP, BellSouth, Rollins Corporation, Bank of Montreal, Aetna, and others. His leadership and expertise helped shape countless professionals, leaving a lasting impact on the organizations and individuals he worked with.
David was known for his kind heart, unwavering support for those he loved, and his ability to find joy in life’s simple moments. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
David is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane; his children, Jennifer Lamb of Chicago, IL, Lisa Lamb of Atlanta, GA, and David Lamb of Cary, IL; and his cherished grandchildren, Zach Lamb, Lauren Falor, Brandon Falor, Maggie Brenning, Matthew Brenning, Hannah Lamb, Jack Lamb, and Evan Lamb. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 14th at Sacred Heart Church, 3400 S. Adams Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Lamb family will greet 10:00 AM at the church.
Visiting hours have also been arranged for Thursday, February 13th from 3:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary at 5:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home (John Desmond Chapel) 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills.
David’s kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
