Diana was born the daughter of Ray and Betty Svacha on June 3, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Bollingbrook High School, class of 1979. Diana married Joseph Kidder in August 1985 after working together at the Galowich YMCA in Joliet. They started their family shortly after purchasing their first home and opening their initial day care center. Diana and Joe were married for 40 years and supported each other in all the daily joys and struggles of raising a family and owning several businesses.
Diana was a dedicated pre-school teacher who positively impacted many children. She began her career in early childhood education at Joliet Junior College, where she developed a strong commitment to guiding, teaching, and caring for young learners. Diana established two daycare centers in Illinois and contributed as a guest instructor in the children's literature program at Joliet Junior College. Additionally, she served as a mentor to students at Lockport High School’s childcare program. Diana remained active in her profession and played a significant role in the lives of numerous young children until her retirement in 2019 due to a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Diana is survived by her husband, Joseph Kidder; her mother, Betty Adams; children, Danielle (James Scott), Brandon (Catherine), and Jocelyn (Michael); grandchildren, Emma, Teagan, Brigid, Emanuele, Willow, Donte, and Kinsley. Diana was predeceased by her father, Ray Svacha.
A memorial visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills on Friday January 2, 2026, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm with prayers at 5:00pm.
