Ernest E. Alvrez, “Papa” of Auburn Hills, age 89 passed away peacefully on May 11, 2016. He was born in North Platte, Nebraska on July 12, 1926 and was preceded in death by his wife Earnestine “Tonie” Alvrez (La Forge). He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Mugnai and sister Margaret Myers. Father of Steve and Renee (Greer) Alvrez and Lisa (Alvrez) Tomei. Grandfather of Lauren, Conner, Brendan, Leah, Laina and Skylar and survived by one sister, Eleanor Perkins. He was “Uncle Ernie” to many special nieces and nephews. Mr. Alvrez served in the U.S. Army in World War II and retired from Pontiac Motors and Crittenton Hospital. He loved God, family and the Detroit Tigers and will be truly missed by many. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills, MI.
