Eugene Calvin Ayers, age 90, of Auburn Hills, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. Eugene was born on June 5, 1924 in Buchanan, Virginia, son of the late Ewell and Ethel Mae Ayers. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was a part of the Normandy Invasion force. Eugene was a member of the Teamsters and was employed many years as a truck driver. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Ann Ayers, his children Brenda Pry, Kathy (Greg) Joseph, Barbara Ayers, Jeffrey Ayers, and Jennifer (Brian) Frabutt. Also survived by grandchildren Jacob (Kelly) Joseph, Caitlin Frabutt and her fiancé James Pavlik, Emily Joseph and Chloe Frabutt. Private services and Military Honors will be held at a later date. Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
