Gary was born the son of Clarence and Geraldine (Mettner) Boyer, in Hazel Park, Michigan on January 16, 1957. He graduated from Hazel Park High School, class of 1975. Gary learned German and Russian languages from his US Army training and served overseas in Germany. He married Annette Plante in 1983 and they raised their family in Clarkston before divorcing in 2010. Gary went on to become a physician’s assistant in his career.
Gary loved the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and boating. He also enjoyed tinkering around the house.
Gary is survived by his children David Boyer, Kira Boyer, and Chelsea Boyer; brother Michael Boyer; and sister Patricia Shelton.
Gary’s family welcomes all to a visitation on Tuesday July 12, 2022 from 4–6 p.m. at Pixley Funeral home, located at 3530 Auburn Road in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
