Kevin Reini, a longtime resident of Rochester, Michigan, who grew up in Oak Park, lived life at full throttle. From a young age, he developed a love for cars—beginning with tinkering on model cars in his bedroom and later working on beaters in the driveway. What others saw as junk, Kevin saw as potential.
In 2001, the sale of his Honda CRX marked a turning point, taking him from humble beginnings to becoming a self-made business owner. Kevin loved getting his hands dirty, "wrenching" on vehicles and solving mechanical problems. He found true joy under the hood and took pride in sharing his knowledge and passion with others.
His love for cars naturally extended into racing, and he could often be found at rallies and automotive events. A natural leader, Kevin brought people together through his enthusiasm for racing, adventure, and community. He was the founder of Excitement Tour and a host for the Detroit Gambler 500, leaving a lasting impact on those who shared the road with him.
Kevin also had a playful spirit and was known for making up and singing silly songs. A self-proclaimed foodie, he loved discovering great places to eat and could always tell you exactly what to order—hibachi was among his favorites. He also found a passion for “trash fishing” and spent many years helping clean up local lakes and rivers.
Kevin’s greatest treasures were his daughters, Gabby and Abigail, whom he affectionately called Chicken Nugget and Wissum. He proudly bought them “Daddy’s Girl” license plates before they even turned one. They were his pride and joy, and nothing meant more to him than being their dad.
Kevin fought his battle with cancer with strength and determination to the very end. Even through immense pain he persevered, with hopes of seeing both his girls graduate. In the months before his passing, he remarried his wife, the love of his life, Andrea, and together with their girls, they spent his final days.
On the day of his passing, he was surrounded by family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea Reini (DeHate), and daughters, Gabriella and Abigail Reini; his mother, Linda Reini (Paraskevin); and his siblings: Dawn Jines (Kevin), Mark Reini (Brittney), Angela Dwyer (Brandon), Sheri Love (Brian), Michelle Reini, David Reini, and Lexi Jedenasty (Jeff). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, longtime friends he considered family, and business associates he regarded the same. Preceding him in death are his father, Edward Reini, and his grandparents.
