June 20, 1948 - July 11, 2017
Linda passed quietly in her sleep after struggling with illness most of her life. She is survived by her husband Cecil, sister Rose (Bruce Parduhn) Kugler. She also leaves behind daughters Casey (Mike) Lopez, Corey (Soli) Leon and three grandchildren Cameron, Eli, and Jessie. Linda was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth Kugler who loved her dearly.
Linda was a graduate of Avondale High School and retired from Pontiac Northern High School after twenty five years. At Northern she ran the book store where students learned responsibly and basic business skills. Many kept in touch with her for years after they graduated. She was bright, intelligent, and beautiful, loved to laugh, and could at times be a little snarky, she was a joy to be around.
Linda fought through more than twenty surgeries and illness that beat her down but never out. She faced each successive illness and surgery with determination and a smile. She fought and pushed forward through it all never giving in and always with a smile. In the end though death is a thief and it stole from her the ability to walk, be social, and enjoy the things she loved to do. Finally, the dark knight came for her and she had no strength left to resist its cold embrace. Death be not proud for she fought your icy touch with courage and strength to the very end.
Linda did not practice a religious dogma and did not want a memorial service, she did believe every living creature has an energy within and her request was that energy represented by her ashes be given back to the sea from which we came. I shall fulfill her wishes and take my love back to the sea one last time.
