Margaret “Joyce” Gibbs of Auburn Hills passed away on Thursday February 5, 2015. She was born on August 12, 1930 in Central Lake, MI to Lester and Dora James. She is survived by her loving husband Richard; they married on June 5, 1951 in Auburn Heights, MI. Her children Brenda (Bob) Lichtle of Sterling Heights, MI, Michael (Nancy) Gibbs of Auburn Hills, MI, Paul (Dena) of Houghton Lake, MI, and Sarah (John) Leonard of Shelby Twp., MI. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her sisters Pauline Scott of Central Lake MI, Arlene Sommerville of Cantonment FL, and Myrna Crouch of Lake Orion, MI.
Joyce was a homemaker. She also cared for many children throughout her lifetime and treated them all as her own. She was an embroiderer, quilt maker, and knitter extraordinaire. Hundreds of people enjoyed her handmade gifts of love. Joyce was still an avid bowler, active on the young at heart league at Classic Lanes.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 9th from 4-8pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd. Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Funeral service on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home.
