Marta was born on March 11, 1938, in Unterrot, Germany the daughter of Paul and Rose (Meier) Kunz. Marta graduated from High School and married Oskar Lining on April 29, 1961, in Unterrot. Oskar brought Marta to the United States in 1961, and they raised their family first in Detroit and then in Bloomfield Hills. Marta cut and styled hair for many people over the years at her businesses, Mr. F's Hair Hut and Casual Hair & Nails. Marta was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Detroit and St. Peter's Lutheran in Warren.
Marta was strong in her faith and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her friends. She enjoyed her customers throughout her time cutting hair. Marta liked traveling, especially to Germany every summer with her family. She also enjoyed travel to Alaska and Australia. Marta also enjoyed their summer lake home near Cadillac Michigan during the summer months, hosting family and friends.
Marta is survived by her husband of 64 years, Oskar Lining; sons Thomas (Pat) and Norman (Nancy) Lining; grandchildren Jamie (Kateryna) Lining, Jaimie Seitz, Jacob Seitz, Matthew (Katey) Lining, Kevin (Paris) Lining, and Jacob Lining; great-grandchildren Oliva, Andrew John, and Langston. Marta was predeceased by her parents and her sister Hildegart Koengetter.
