Mary Ellen Zettel Winters

Mary Ellen (Zettel) Winters, age 82, of Clinton Twp., formerly of Auburn Hills, passed away January 22, 2014, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Mary Ellen was born December 6, 1931, in Birmingham to Arthur J. Zettel and Mary J. (Kneffler) Zettel. Mary Ellen was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was the loving wife of Robert William Winters, preceding her in death in 1997. Their union was blessed with the addition of their daughter, Barbara Ann who later became the wife of Kenneth Moore. She was the cherished grandmother of Amanda Moore and special great-grandmother of Shawn Moore. She is also survived by her sister, Emmaleen (Bob) Schliter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. As well as her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her siblings Shirley, Donna Jean, John Sr. and Donald. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2014, at Sacred Heart of the Hills Catholic Church, 3400 Adams Road in Auburn Hills, the Rev. Fr. Richard D. Cavellier, officiating. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 3530 Auburn Road in Auburn Hills from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service being offered at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
