

Rebecca "Becki" Harris Harkey Age 65, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday October 4, 2015. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1950. She spent her childhood in Detroit except for spending summers on Russell Island. Becki graduated from Dominican High, Detroit and went on to attend Ferris State from 1968-1969. She was previously married to James Kuhn of Detroit. She married and is survived by Jerry Harkey; they married on March 24, 1989. Becki worked for Merrill Lynch and then Olde Stock brokers in downtown Detroit before following her ambition to become a seamstress and dress designer. She worked as a seamstress for Jacobsen's department store in Grosse Pointe, MI. She then opened her own seamstress and dressmaking shop in Harper Woods, MI. She closed her store to enter semi-retirement and served clients by appointment until Parkinson's disease took away her ability to sew. Becki had a passion for boating, cooking and gardening, she was a member of the antique and classic boat society and boat US. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 8, 2015 from 4-8pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd. Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Funeral service to be held on Friday October 9, 2015 at 5pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in East China, Michigan on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 9:00am.
