Tom was born the son of Leon and Rose (Kush) Pakizer on September 1, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic High School, class of 1958. Tom joined the Army and served in Korea with the Army Corp of Engineers. He married Julie Perry on January 7, 1961 at St. Angela church. Tom and Julie raised their family first in East Detroit and later in Troy before moving to Rochester Hills in 1989. Tom had a career as a facilities manager at Chrysler in Detroit for 40 years, retiring in 2005. Tom attended St. Irenaeus Catholic Church.
Tom loved his family and enjoyed coaching the boys in Little League and teaching all the children how to ice skate. As the children grew up, he taught the boys how to maintain a home and take care of cars, and his daughter how to drive a stick shift. Tom and Julie enjoyed many years of travel together including Europe, Hawaii, and all along the eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida. Tom enjoyed golf, fishing, and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Julie; children Karen (Craig) Mulhinch, Paul (Kay) Pakizer, Thomas (Stephanie) Pakizer; grandchildren Woody (Glynis) Mulhinch, Megan Mulhinch, Nolan Pakizer, Julia Pakizer, and Brett Pakizer. Tom was predeceased by his parents.
Although no services will be held at this time, a celebration of his wonderful life will be held in the spring.
