

Donald R. Wickstrom, 72, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA. Born May 25th, 1938 in Kellogg, Idaho, his family moved to the Puget Sound area in 1944. Donald graduated from Highline High School in 1956, and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965, including a four-month tour of duty in Vietnam. Donald worked as an analyst for “The Bell System”, starting with Pacific Northwest Bell, and retiring from Qwest Communications after 40 years. Donald was an active member of the Pacific Cascade Mustang Club, winning multiple trophies with his 1965 “K Pony” in shows in Washington and Canada.
Donald is survived by his wife Helen of Auburn, son Michael of La Mesa, CA, daughter Lori of Auburn, step-daughters Brenda of Maple Valley and Karen of Enumclaw, eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planed for Friday, July 9th, at 9:30AM at the Tahoma National Cemetery, located at 18600 SE 240th, Kent, WA. A reception will follow the service. The Wickstrom family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made – in memory of Donald R. Wickstrom, for the ongoing medical treatment of Jacob Osman’s battle with ALD.
