

Rodney A. Trueblood, 67, passed away July 17, 2016 suddenly of a massive heart attack. Rod was born in Rochelle, Illinois. He enlisted into the Air Force in 1970 and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He loved living in Anchorage so much that after his honorary discharge from the Air Force, he remained in Anchorage. In 1987 he moved to Washington and loved this beautiful state and has remained ever since. He tried to live in a warmer climate (Phoenix, AZ) for a year in the early 90’s, but Washington called him back. Rod’s interest in airplanes drew him to be a docent at The Museum of Flight in Seattle. He absolutely loved every minute he was involved with the Museum. Rod is survived by his wife, Sharon; his mother, Eva Trueblood (Genoa, IL); two sisters, Sheila Watson (Joplin, MT) and Natalie Canavan (Tom) (Genoa, IL); three stepdaughters, Tiffany Call (Anchorage, AK), Wendy Davis (DuPont, WA), and Carrie Hamilton (Chris) (Kent, WA); 9 grandchildren, Brent (Kaylene), Casey (Mackenzie), Riley, Sheyanna, Christopher, Cierra, and Kylen; and 1 great-granddaughter, Olivia. Rod also had numerous nieces and nephews. Rod was a wonderful man with a gentle soul who will be missed by many. He was the kindest, soft-hearted and warmest person you could ever want to know. Viewing will be held for Rod on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 11:00 – 2:00 at Price-Helton Funeral Home 702 Auburn Way N. A military internment will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:30 at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
