Charles J. Proctor, 90, passed away due to heart failure, Monday, Sep. 6th, 2010 in Winter Haven. He was a lifelong resident of Winter Haven. He was the Owner of Crystal Beach Pavilion on Eagle Lake and an accomplished musician and singer. He was also a meter reader for Central FL Gas. He was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces serving in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Eagle Lake where he was a choir member and volunteered at local nursing homes providing music and devotions.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Wilcox Proctor, his parents, Charlie and Ilene Proctor, and a son, Gary Proctor. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Oveida Proctor, two daughters, Donna Stewart (Ronnie) and Lori Proctor, two sons, Dale Proctor (Teresa) and Robert Proctor (Debbie), 6 grandchildren, Dawn Proctor, Gary “J.R.” Proctor, Julie Proctor, Eric Proctor, Indy Proctor,and Keith Sealey, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Sep. 10 from 10-11, with services following at 11 a.m., both at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale.
