

Born on March 4, 1954, Debra lived a life centered on compassion, generosity, and caring for others. She earned her Associate’s Degree and dedicated her professional life to her nursing career, working at Winter Haven Hospital for 20 years.
Debra was known as a second mother to many who had the privilege of knowing her. She was deeply caring and giving, always putting others before herself and making sure those around her felt loved and supported. Her warm spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping and trips to the casino, and she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Steven Arthur and Dennis Gay; her mother, Winnie Joyce Tinch; her father, James Sater; her brothers, Jackie Sater and Joe Sater; and her beloved Aunt “Momma,” Ruth Tinch Helman.
Debra is survived by her loving daughter, Kristina Carroll and husband Brian Carroll; her granddaughter, Breanna Carroll; her grandson, Ethan Carroll; her sister, Terri Dawson; as well as several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Debra’s legacy of love, selflessness, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Committal Service will be held at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida, on May 15, 2026, at 11:30 am.
