A lifelong resident of Florida, Gordon worked for 32 years at IMC/CF Industries as a supervisor. Prior to retirement, Gordon was also the owner of a fish business and was the founding father of the Fin & Feather Club. He was also a member of the Church of Christ of Lake Wales.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Irma Thomas; children, Marcie Crawford (Bobby), Allen Thomas (Kathy), Phil Thomas (Sue), Katrinka Powers, and Wayne Thomas (Dottie); as well as 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Thomas and Mittie Denton Thomas, as well as siblings Douglas Thomas, Wanda Kirkland, and John Thomas.
A visitation for Gordon will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W Central Ave, Winter Haven, Florida 33880. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home.
Gordon will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Auburndale, Florida.
