Jacquelyn Sloan Watkins, 76, of Lakeland, Fl passed away October 2, 2011 in Sarasota, FL due to complications of COPD. Mrs. Watkins was born in Lakeland, FL and graduated from Lakeland High School in 1954. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland.
Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Jessie Sloan and her husband of 37 years, J.L. Watkins. She is survived by her children: John Michael Watkins, Jean Faulk, and Jean’s son Jeremy Langford, Carol Peterson, and Carol’s children; Forrest, Jessie, Luke, Winter, Cassandra.
Visitation will be Friday, October 7th, from 6 to 8 pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, with graveside services on Saturday at 10 am at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens. Do to Mrs. Watkins love of animals, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Satchel’s Last Resort 8101 Coash Rd. Sarasota, FL 34241.
