

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Alberta Mae Cook Moore, 86, of Augusta, Georgia formerly of McKeesport, Pennsylvania went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She had a love for music and served for many years as the choir director at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She was also an avid bridge player. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Moore and sisters, Persis Tray, Doris Badstibner and Jeanne Murphy. She is survived by her two daughters, Penny (Gary) Brenenborg and Pamela (Paul) Handel; three grandchildren, Jonathan Handel, Eric Brenenborg and Kristi Brenenborg; her closest and dearest friend of many years, Lilo Gough, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 - 9 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of Alberta's life will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Charlie Stakely officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Church, 2540 William Few Pkwy, Evans, Georgia 30809, in Mrs. Moore's memory.
