Barbara R Souza

Barbara was born on October 5, 1940, to the late Katherine and Amos Darnell in Augusta, Georgia.

Barbara was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Senior Saints Bible Study Class. She enjoyed spending time camping, traveling and NASCAR. She held several positions in the workforce, however her most treasured role was mother to her three sons.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Deborah Jean Darnell and Sandra Faye Darnell; brothers Amos Ronald Darnell and Baby Darnell. She leaves behind to treasure her memory sons, Darrell A. Walden (Anne) of Lincolnton, Ga., C.A. “Tony” Walden (Michelle) of Hephzibah, Ga., and Roy Mark Arrington of Grovetown, Ga. She was a proud Granny to Dawn Robertson, J.R Walden (Kayla), April Keener (Eric), Christopher Walden (Julia), Danielle White (Paul), Hope Titus (Robert), Cleon Walden II (Katie), Breezie Walden, Lyle Arrington (Courntey), Victoria Arrington Wall (Joey), she also leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren; she is the sister to Linda Johnson, Mrs. Billie Green, Neal, Al., Brenda Reeves of Dearing Ga., Gary Darnell, Blythe, Ga., Ray Darnell Hephzibah, Ga and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM followed by interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
