Mrs. Erika Anna Hughes, 82, of Augusta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Georgia Regents University. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2pm in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Robertson officiating. Inurnment will be private. Born in Nuremburg, Germany, she moved to the United States in 1951. She was a member of the flower ministry, PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel), Bible Railroad at Fort Gordon, and Senior Friends. Erika enjoyed bingo, bowling, and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Hughes, parents, George and Margarete Ubelacker. She is survived by her children, Michael Hughes, Charlene Hughes, both of Augusta, GA, Terence Hughes and his wife Lynn Hughes, Pooler, GA, grandchildren, Cory Chambers, Andrew Chambers, and Ty Hughes. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
