Glenda was born and raised in and around the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina; born on June 21, 1940. She had one brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Robinson and Glen Redmond; brother, Arlen Warren; sister, Brenda Moser; infant sister, Ellen Edwards; her infant child loss during childbirth, Glen M. Bradburn; and great-grandson, Landon Powell. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Jamie Cook and Victoria Jeselnik; sister, Ella Gramling of Virginia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her love of numbers brought her to the banking business in Virginia and a variety of financial institutions in the CSRA which included the financial secretary of Presbyteries of the Southeast, responsibility for the past senators political financial records and records for numerous lawyers in the CSRA. She also enjoyed working in the city’s Comptroller Office.
She came to know the Lord at a very early age and was active in her church wherever she was. While most recently a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, she spent most of the last forty years at Cliffwood Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed teaching children Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
She enjoyed most any type of music and actually met her husband in a dance hall environment. Her favorite music ties her to her church because it is Southern Gospel. She especially enjoyed traveling to Southern Gospel Concerts.
In addressing those things that Glenda truly cared about, you would be remiss if family, home and children were all not on the top of the list. She enjoyed short trips but always she was glad to get home. As far as children are concerned: There simply was and is never one she did not immediately love.
Glenda's life was an example of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
