Ms. Helen Louise Shiver passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on January 31, 1931, Helen was a beloved resident of Augusta, Georgia. She was cherished by all who knew her, remembered for her many inspirational traits which included being devoted, generous, kind-hearted, and selfless.
Helen led a life filled with joy and affection, particularly towards her family. She is remembered by her loving daughters, Margaret Shiver Forster and Marie Edwards, and her son, Harry Shiver (Jean). Left to cherish her memory are also her 9 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Preceding her in death are her dear husband, Lonnie C Shiver, her daughter, Becky Douglas, and her parents, Marvin T. Gaster and Repsie Gaster.
Her deeply cherished personal interests included her love for her yard and caring for her 4 o' clock flowers. She was known for her talent in sewing, with a particular passion for creating various things for the nursing home, reflecting her compassionate nature. Helen was also deeply attached to her cats, especially Snuggles, who was her constant companion.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia, 30906, to honor her life on January 20, 2026, at 11:00 am.
