James A. Weathersbee Jr.

Mr. James Alvin Weathersbee, 84, of Augusta, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home. He is preceded in death by the love of his life of fifty-six years, Dorothy Redmon Weathersbee.

Mr. Weathersbee loved traveling, his last trip was to the Panama Canal which he thoroughly enjoyed. He liked playing pool, reading the newspaper and remaining aware of the latest world news on television. James served his country with pride in the United States Navy during World War II. James worked for Poss Trailers for many years. He was a produce farmer and raised hogs.

Survivors include his three daughters, Brenda W. Newbury, Pam Wiggins and Jackie W. (Richard L.) Willis; brother, Theodore Kershaw Weathersbee; brother-in-law, Frank Strother; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Steven) Barrett and Amanda Wiggins; and numerous extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held 3 PM, Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
