John M Wiley

John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose kindness and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. An avid outdoorsman, John found joy in fishing so much so that he created his own fishing maps. He also enjoyed hunting, especially turkey and dove season, and loved spending time in nature.

A true sports enthusiast, John had a deep love for football and proudly cheered on his favorite team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. He was also very involved in his children’s sports growing up and enjoyed participating in swimming, bowling, and softball himself.

John was known for his selflessness and strong work ethic. His coworkers often said he would do anything for anyone and would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. In his later years, he developed a deep love for animals and was a dedicated companion to many beloved pets.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Wiley. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Wiley; his children Susan Wiley, John Jeffrey Michael Wiley, and Samuel Wiley; and his stepdaughters Michelle Rooney (Shawn) and Sabrina Atwood. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906
