HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mrs. Lizzie Mae Gay, 75, entered into rest on Sunday, May 29, 2016, in the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016, in the Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Rd. chapel with Rev. Jerry Pitman officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road. Mrs. Gay was a native of Jenkins Co., but has lived in Augusta for several years. She was an in home caretaker and aide for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son, Thomas (Krystal) Nichols; daughter, Joyce (John) Beasley; her stepchildren, Jimmy Gay, Lori Gay Griffin (Larry), Sandy Gay Vaughn (Danny), Penny Cook Christol (Steve), and Brad Cook; brother, Joe Wright Jr.; sisters, Agnes Lorhman and Mary Reid; grandchildren, Betty McGahee, Cathy White, Christopher Beasley, John Beasley, Katelyn Beasley, Donna Park Radford, Stacy Kay, as well as several great-grandchildren.
