Maggie Madeline Howard

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11am at Lumpkin Road Baptist Church with Pastor Don Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bobby Powell, Jr., Jackie F. Key, Matthew D. Key, Shawn E. Price, William H. Howard, Jr., and Ken P. Shockey.

A lifelong resident of Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Lanier Horne and Beatrice Burnett Horne. She was a member of Lumpkin Road Baptist. Maggie enjoyed working with flowers, gardening. She loved to listen to music and dancing. She retired from Graniteville Company and was an avid collector of angels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brother, 2 sisters, and a great grandchild, Damion Howard. She is survived by her husband , Garnett Howard, Sr., children, Garnett Howard, Jr. and his wife Donna, Aiken, SC, William Howard, Sr.and his wife Kay, Augusta, GA, Patricia A. Alfano, Grovetown, sisters, Julia E. Mooney, Lincolnton, GA, Ann Powell, Augusta, GA, brother, Richard Lanier Horne ,grandchildren, Francis Howard, William H. Howard, Jr., Shannon R. Alfano, and great grandchild, Leonard L. Shockey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 6-8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
