

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10am in the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. At Paul’s request, please do not wear black to the service. Interment will take place at 2:30pm at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
Paul was born in West Palm Beach, FL. He lived in various cities before moving to Augusta in 1989 He retired from the Army after 21 Years of service. He served in Panama, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was active in The American Legion Post #178. He was a member of American Legion Riders Post #178, Patriot Guard Riders, Order of the Cross Motorcycle Ministries, and the Augusta Steel Masters. Paul was instrumental in bringing the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall to Augusta. He was co-owner of Patriotic Caterers. He was an assistant pastor and deacon at Wildwood Christian Church. He was a host parent and area representative with the ASSE International Foreign Exchange.
He was preceded in death by his dad Orlando Knox. Paul is survived by his wife, Toni Ann Slomiany Knox, step children, Kenneth (Mandy) Zaydel, Jr., Joseph (Maranda) Zaydel, children, Paul John Valentine, Erica Valentine, Lacey Valentine, Walter Knox, Mother, Jean Aulenbauch Wessner, brother, Mark Wessner, sister, Ida Rakowsky, step sister, Linda Perry, step brother, Billy Perry, grandchildren, Ashley Zaydel, Haven Zaydel, Kayley Ann Zaydel, Jaedyn Zaydel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2013 from 6-8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Wildwood Christian Church, 2627 Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, Georgia 30815 or The American Legion Riders Post #178, 3219 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
