

She was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She graduated from Hephzibah High School. Shirley was working at the University Hospital as a Registered Radiological Technician, where she had worked for more than twenty years. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Shirley liked football and hockey.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Day and his fiancée Betsy Picciano, daughter, Chelsey Davis, both of Augusta; lifelong friend and partner, Allen Day, Augusta, parents, Sandra and Thomas Bradford, Hephzibah, GA; brother, Thomas Eugene Bradford, Jr., uncles, William E. Warren, Decatur, AL; Richard E. Warren, Augusta, stepsisters, Deborah Tudor, Evans, GA; Donna Bradford, St. Petersburg, FL; father and stepmother, F. Randolph and Gail Payne, Fredericksburg, VA, half-brother, Michael Payne, Fredericksburg, VA; step brother, David Faulkner, Augusta; stepsister, Nancy Anderson, Grovetown, uncle, Bill Payne, North Augusta, SC; aunts, Anne King, and Nancy Dow, both of Augusta.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Rd, Augusta with Pastor David King officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Susan G.
