He moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1952. He worked at Swift Packing Plant. At the time, Swifts was one of the “Big Four of meat packing companies. He worked in the same plant, pretty much using the same kinds of equipment, as they did when they opened in 1887.

A fun loving man. He never met a stranger he didn't like. He loved people, especially kids and pets.
An example, new neighbors, of modest means, with children, moved in next door. Clarence gathered some of the best produce from his garden, plus can goods and other food items, and took it over. His way of saying “hi, welcome to the neighborhood”.
His interests included gardening, politics, major league baseball and the NFL.
He deeply loved church and entertaining friends. Loved to barbecue and took great pride in his barbeque sauce. Family and friends would put their request in early for a mason jar full of red, spicy, heaven.
