Joanne Allen Elee

Joanne Allen Elee was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Reverend Joseph Allen and the late Willie Mae White on March 5, 1954. She was the first of three children, her siblings being Joseph Edgar Allen and Steven Bernard Allen. She also had a step-brother, Leonard James Allen.

Joanne had a beautiful talent for jewelry art. Her creations were amazing, beautiful, and meticulously crafted. When she wasn't creating delicate pieces of jewelry, she was caring for people. Joanne graduated from Concorde Career Institute with a degree in medical coding. She worked at Denver Health Medical Center for 11 years. Joanne will be remembered as an incredibly loving, caring, person who was a fantasitc wife, mother and grandmother.

Joanne passed away in Aurora, Colorado on May 25, 2023 at the age of 69. She is survived by her life partner and husband of 23 years, Larry Matarrese of Aurora, CO; daughter, Nicole Allen of Chicago, Illinois; step-daughter, Francesca Matarrese of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Hope of Chicago, IL; siblings, Joseph (Diane) Allen of Oak Forest, IL, Steven Allen of Davenport, IA, Leonard (Kelli); as well as a host of extended family, and friends.

A visitation for Joanne will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Aurora, 1095 Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80010, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
