Ken Andersen, age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 10, 1929 to Charles and Tora Andersen. Ken’s older brother Richard was killed in action during World War II and younger sister, Jean, who passed away due to an illness at the precious age of 18 months old. Ken left New York at the age of 17 going west to Colorado. He loved adventure and the outdoors where he learned to ski and eventually became a member of the Berthoud Ski Patrol. This is the time where Ken met the love of his life, Peggy Cornelison.
Ken and Peggy were married April 7, 1956 in Denver, Colorado. They were blessed with three wonderful children Chuck, Ken Jr. and Ron.
Ken was a loving husband, father and a devoted Christian. He lived for his family and the adventures that life brought him. His love of flying, golf, fishing, scuba diving and skiing are a few of the joys in his life that only preceded the time with family to relive the many adventures.
Ken had a successful carpet and pad distribution company in the 1970’s but left the partnership in 1981 to run his own flooring company Andersen & Sons, Inc. with his loving wife Peggy.
Ken is joining his son Ron in Heaven which is a welcomed celebration. Ken is survived by his true love Peggy, and his two sons Chuck and Ken Jr.
Ken’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8th at 11:00 am followed by a Reception at Cherry Hills Christian Church at the Chapel.
