Raoma Jean Berkey Graham, 96, of Aurora, passed away on March 30, 2019. Raoma was born in Nebraska, to Ray and Gladys Berkey. She met and married Russell Graham, and together the two raised 3 children, as well as, all the neighbor children and friends of their own children. Raoma loved children. She made so many friends with children, that as those children grew up and had their children, they were named after her.
You could find Raoma playing the piano by ear, baking incredible birthday cakes, or large amounts of Christmas cookies, sewing clothing and other beautiful items for her family, chicken scratch sewing, knitting, or doing just about anything crafty. She was known as someone who music was important too, who liked to garden, who loved animals, and who was an awesome mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Raoma will be deeply missed.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Troy and Duane. She is survived by her children, Lana, Layne, Jerry (Kelle); grandchildren, Scott (Alexa), and April; great-grandchildren, Thatcher, Daxton and Graham; sister, Marilyn; and many other friends and extended family members.
A celebration of Raoma's life will be held on, at Messiah Lutheran Community Church in Denver. Raoma will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery in a private ceremony.
