Sherry Ann Morphis was born on October 6, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of three children born to Carrol Hall and Bobby Lee Carr. Sherry grew up surrounded by family and shared her childhood with her brother, John Carr, and her sister, Jeana Carr.
Sherry later married the love of her life, Robert Earl Morphis, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and compassion for others. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Rachelle Jones and Shaina Brady, who will always remember her as a kind-hearted, down-to-earth child of God who lit up every room she walked into.
Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Neshume’le Jones, Theia Jones, Riyah Jones, Mikael Tarver, Ahluradana Crook-Pruiett, Dimitirous Crook, Kaiden Crook-Pruiett, Josephine Brady, and Simone Feltman. Each of them held a special place in her heart and brought her immense pride and joy.
Sherry was blessed with many meaningful friendships. She shared a close bond with her loving neighbor and friend, Jeanette Doolittle, as well as many others from her supportive church community and the friends she made in her building. These relationships were rooted in compassion in Christ and a shared empathy for helping those in need. Her friends will forever miss her warm presence and her beautiful smile that could brighten any room.
A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Sherry believed strongly in Jesus and His power to heal the soul and mind. Her favorite saying, “God is good, forever and always,” reflected the way she lived her life — with gratitude, hope, and trust in God’s plan. The lasting image many will carry is her bright smile and the peace that radiated from her spirit.
Sherry would want her loved ones to know that although her physical presence is no longer here, her spirit lives on. She would remind them that she is at peace, sitting in heaven with God, and that she will always remain with them in spirit and in prayer.
Sherry Ann Morphis will be remembered for her faith, her compassion, her loving heart, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her memory will be cherished always.
