

Thomas John Hall Sr., 86 years, of Aurora, CO passed on to his heavenly home October 29, 2015. Tom died peacefully with Arlene by his side at the VA hospice nursing home center. Tom was born July 28, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Clair Marion (Whitey) and Threasa Maria (McComsey) Hall. His parents divorced when he was 6 months old. He was raised by his mother and grandmother on a wheat ranch in Nebraska. He graduated high school in La Grange, Wyoming.
Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (1952-1954) and received an honorable discharge in 1960 while living in Colorado. In 1961 he became a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue.
He drove a semi-truck for 32 years all over the country and worked as a truck mechanic. He was injured while working for Safeway and retired for a short time. He began working for Argenbright services at the airport and then First Watch as a security guard.
He enjoyed music and played many other instruments during his life. At around 6 years old, he began playing accordion for dances in Wyoming. After coming to Colorado he played bass guitar in country western bands. In 1950 he played bass guitar on the Rocky Mountain Jamboree with Buster Jenkins on radio station KLAK. He spent 66 years playing music between Colorado and Wyoming. Tom was inducted to the Colorado Country Hall of Fame in 2008.
On June 21, 1987, Tom became a member of Hope Lutheran Church and eventually served as an elder and helped write the church constitution. As a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 1, he participated in the motorcycle drill team and led many parades including Cheyenne Frontier Days. He was also a member of TREA.
Tom is survived by his ex-wife of 27 years Arlene (Derald) McCullick, granddaughter Kristin Cogar, grandson(in-law) Marvin Cogar, two great-grandsons Marvin III and Noah Cogar, son-in-law, Bob Richards, sister Shari (Ben) Thompson, two brothers Bill Hall and Murray Brown, brother in-law Pat Coffinger, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his special mother Dorothy Hall, daughter Vickie Richards, two sisters Joy Coffinger and Wilda Vance.
Cremation rites were accorded by Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, Aurora, CO. Memorial services will be held on November 10th at 11:30am at Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
