So sorry to hear of Uncle Bruce's passing. I always thought he was a "cool guy" when I was growing up and was fascinated by his electronics business. Always admired him for building a business from scratch. Will miss him.

I always think of Uncle Bruce when I am taking pictures.  Sometimes I tell my friends I work for "Let Me Flash You" Photography.  Uncle Bruce was awesome and I will miss him a lot.

A. Glenna, I have so many fond memories of Uncle Bruce from the time I remember first meeting him in the late 1960's.  Throughout all of these years, my heart has never failed to quietly skip a beat when I saw the two of you arriving.  Some of my most vivid memories growing up are of your August 1970 wedding, sitting on the station lawn and my many summer vacations in The Big City.  I remember our going to dinner at Honest Ed's and my eyes growing so large at all the lights.  It was such a big, fancy restaurant to a young country girl!  Later, on a hot summer day, he threw me the keys to your brand new T-Bird.  (I'm sure everyone at the kitchen table must have been horrified as I wasn't yet 15.  Or was it the fact that I might have been a "tad enthusiastic" when I took off with said keys?)  After learning of U. Bruce's passing, I sang The Beaver Song to one of my friends.  She looked at me kinda funny but I'm sure it's just because I don't have the knack.  The bond Bruce shared with dad was undeniable.  We will be eternally grateful for the love and support you gave us and for sharing your home when dad had his stroke.  We were lucky to have Bruce as one of our own and now, he rests in the arms of the family.  R.I.P. Uncle Bruce.  You shared a life well lived with a beautiful woman (both inside and out) by your side.  A. Glenna, our hearts are breaking for you.  You know that if there's ANYTHING we can do to help in the weeks and months ahead, we most certainly will.  Much love, now and forever. Cathy, Bob & Iris

When I was little, Brucey taught me how to dive off their diving board.  He also taught me how to drink our of their badet (mean joke!).  He also gave me my first tackle box that I still use.  Whenever I saw him, he was always interested in what I was doing & wanted to know how my hockey was going. I remember watching Gremlins at their house whenever we would have a sleepover.  A few months ago, he gave me a small silver horseshoe that he had for a long time. It will always remind me of him.  I'll miss you Brucey.  Peter xoxo

Uncle Bruce was so kind and always interested in what was happening in my life.  They say if you want people to think you are interesting, be interested in them and Uncle Bruce certainly did that!  I remember my Dad talking about what a great addition Uncle Bruce made to the Gateman family and what a great brother-in-law he was!  We will miss him terribly.  Aunt Glenna please let me know if there is anything at all I can do for you to help in some small way.  Love Always, Cindy and Dan.

The memory of Uncle Bruce that always stuck with me was when I was a kid and we were at your house for a couple of days. I had an upset stomach and was laying in bed. Uncle Bruce came to see how I was. I can remember as clear as day - he leaned onto the bed and clasped his hands and talked to me. I remember thinking of how it reminded me of mom doing bedtime prayers and I thought to myself, "Its okay Uncle Bruce, it's just an upset tummy, you don't have to pray for me".

In retrospect the bed was tall and he was probably just getting eye level. I will certainly miss him.

Dear Aunt Glenna

Lori and I were so saddened to hear of Uncle Bruce's passing.  As you know I fondly referred to him as Uncle Heff due to his resemblance to Hugh Heffer. We shared many laughs about that.  I always enjoyed discussing business with him and remember talking with him when I was 19 and still in college about sales and marketing.  He always seemed so interested in my growth and I appreciated his advice.  I also remember staying with you guys when I was around 10 years old for march break and he took me to a Leaf game and you took me to Disney on Ice. That was so cool and speaking of cool who could forget his 69 gold Chevy Chevelle SS with the white vinyl roof and the bucket seats.  I thought it was the best looking car I had ever seen. We will miss him dearly but I will smile everytime I think of him.

I remember Brucey like he is still here.  I remember his voice, I remember his glasses.  When I was little, we used to make "potions" at their house.  One time, Brucey thought one of our potions would explode - and it did!  I remember once Brucey taught me how to jump off the diving board. He also taught Peter how to dive.  When Bruce & Glenna visited our cottage, he shot my brother Peter with the pellet gun by accident. We all had a good laugh! Brucey was one of the only people that could make Peter laugh. We will always miss that.  Brucey was like a grampa to Peter & I.  We will never forget him.  We love you Miss Glenna!!! xoxoxo Olivia
