Belated condolences to Karen, Lynn-Ann and the Boyle family.  I only just learned of Dale's passing.  I am very saddened by the news of course.  I often think fondly of my time in the Bay 3 Drawing Stores under the supervision of Mr. Boyle.  I am sure he will be watching over all of you forever and always.  God bless him, he is missed.

I am sad to hear of Dale`s passing.  He was my first supervisor at DH and probably one of the best I had there.  I got along great with him as I drove him nuts with my singing.  I know he is in a better place.  I will never forget my talks with him.  Joe Perzia

Beautiful service today.

Dale has been our neighbour for the past 8 years.  His perfectly cut grass and beautiful magnolia tree made Tower Cres. a little prettier.  

He always had a friendly wave for Brook and I and a big chocolate bar Ben and Drew.  He will be missed on the street.

Karen and Lynn - I do remember that always smiling face of your dad back in those happy de Havilland days. My thoughts are with you and your family.

This message is for Dale's family. I've known Karen/Steve for many years where we met whilst working for De Havilland.  I probably have met Dale at some time during my years at DH's, but can't recall. Dale's passing was way too soon and I'm very sorry to hear of his departure.  My condolences to all the family, I know he will be missed terribly.

Karen, I remember your dad from the old Dehavilland days. He was a real gentleman, always had a nice smile. May God bless his soul now and Rest in Peace. My prayers for you and your family.

Dale was a kind and caring neighbour who lived directly from our house, in his most recent home. We would first like to express our sincere sympathy to all family members. Next, we would like to share the highlights we experienced in having him as a close nieghbour. He watched over our children since the time we moved in. Although he was not supposed to have chocolate in the house, he often did. My children came over with glee on countless times saying that Dale had given them a chocolate bar. I always chuckled. As well, many days I would come home to have my recycling bins already moved from the end of the driveway by Dale. Dale also loved to garden. He would plant extra tomato plants for us. Finally, I share many laughs in reflecting on his honest ways (e.g., telling me that I cut the lawn like I vacuum, which I do), asking me if I had a drink before I pruned the shrubs, asking me if I was running out of country, upon a return from a run, etc.). The presence of him on his front chair was comfort to us. We knew he was watching out for us. In fact, I used to wave from my car window sometimes as I left seeing Dale standing in his front window. Dale will be missed by many in our neighbourhood, for sure by our family. Our prayers are with his family at this time. Love, The Darlingtons

We have been neighbours of Dale's since he moved to Barrie, but we got to know him better when our daughter, husband and family moved next door to Dale.  We will miss him and the neighbourhood will for ever be changed.

Dale was a great neighbour since we moved in 12 years ago. Whether talking about the Blue Jays' chances, sharing plant tips, having him "winter" geraniums and lilies, surprising us by clearing our snow before we'd get home from work, keeping an eye out for any strangers or danger, whacking a wasps' nest out of our tree, sitting in chairs on the driveway, or saying "Is that right..." when sharing a story - he was the very best. Everyone on our street will miss him.

I recently reunited with my Uncle Dale and remember many good times together as kids. I didn't realize how much I had missed his company until we shared some lovely memories on the phone then had a chance to meet in person at a family reunion this summer. I am so grateful for that reunion and the chance to share a laugh a give him a big hug. Many of my fondest memories as a child include my Uncle Dale! Rest in Peace .....i know you and Dad will be sharing a joke and a laugh in heaven.

Our family moved next door to Dale about 10 years ago.  Very quickly he became known to us as a caring friend and neighbour. It was a regular thing to get together while working on our yards.  I would often ask him for advice as to how to care for my lawn and anything else I was working on and he always seemed to know exactly what I needed to do.

My wife Tracey was very fond of Dale.  He showed her how to care for the many flowers that can be found around our yard.  (When to trim them, water them, take them in the house, wrap them, and bring them back out at the beginning of the next season)  Those that knew him were always impressed with the condition of his yard and the many floral arrangements found inside his home and on his property.

On numerous occasions, I would join him as he listened to or watched the latest Toronto team play.  He was a big supporter of the Blue Jays, Raptors, and Leafs.  He was pretty excited as the Blue Jays made their way toward the World Series this past year.  The Raptors have given him lots to cheer about, and he was hoping Babcock was going to turn the Leafs around.  

Dale was a big part of teaching our children how to greet people.  He was their first regular contact with someone who wasn't part of our family.  He often commented how impressed he was that they looked at him when they talked to him and would greet him when they saw him outside. Little did he know, they learned these things from him. Dale would always greet them when he saw them, look them in the eye and ask them about what was going on in their lives. They enjoyed telling Dale what they were up to and he enjoyed listening to them.  The kids knew that Dale would always have something special to hand over to them at Christmas time, Hallowe'en and their birthdays.  

My wife and I walked our dog past his house each morning and night and could see the light of his television and know that he was okay. He would often give us a friendly wave as we walked by.

We miss him already.
