It's been difficult to face each day without you, since you travelled on ahead of me.  The last few weeks before you left were full of caregiving and care receiving.  Little did we know.  That your trip by ambulance on November 24 would result in finding out that you had acute leukemia and that you would be checking out the next day to be transported to a glorious reunion with your parents, our son, my mom and many others.  I talk to your picture, a resemblance of you, but that's all I have.
You were so brave, so sweet, such a giant of trustworthiness in the grace of God.
You fought the good fight.  You endured the race and now you have the prize.  You taught me so much.  I am so unworthy in light of your faith and strength.  I hope that as you were leaving, you would know we were a perfect match, made in heaven. I told you that I would soon follow.  I was so disappointed that I did not follow you. I am still here. It is now 4 months since you left.  Thank you for supporting me and your family.  We are being taken care of. Lack nothing except your presence.  I deeply love you and always will.  God is so good!

Barb and family. I am so very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. A shock to be sure. I remember both of you being such great neighbours of our parents, Harry and Bessie. I believe Dave did some work for Mom and Dad. Also, he painted my late husband's, Bill's, house. I remember Dave as being a very nice man, very good at his job. Mom and Dad often spoke well of you both. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Barb & Family:  Kathy called me to tell me about Dave's passing and I just want to extend my sympathy for your loss!!!  However, I can picture him in Heaven with Paul and, if they need any painting done up there, Dave is the man for it!!!!  I remember years ago he had a job down our way and we invited him to stay with us and in one night he painted our entire living room and wouldn't take any money for it!!!!  He will be missed!!! Oh Dad...thank you...thank you...thank you...for being the most important man in my life; for being the kind of man who would help me build my character by showing me how to  live a Christ-like life; for modelling a truly witty sense of humour that is never at the expense of others; for teaching me how to sand, paint, drywall, get out a clothing stain, dig a hole, use a jig saw, fix a fence, handle disappointment, how to trust God in a crisis, study the scriptures and forgive.  I'll be seeing you.

Barb and family - I am so sorry for the loss of your dear husband and father.  My heart goes out to you and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I have many fond memories of times together with Dave over many, many years and for sure he will be missed by all.
