

Douglas John Zack, born August 15, 1949 in Port Colborne, passed away suddenly on May 24, 2023 in Newmarket, Ontario. He was a beloved husband to Linda for 52 years, a brother to Stanley, a devoted father to Megan and Brendan, and proud grandfather to Paxton, Wolfgang, Leif, and Surrey.
Doug was a high school teacher for over 35 years, and was known for his humour, his eccentric teaching style, and his undeniable commitment to his students. He was a world traveler, from Fiji to North Korea. Doug had infinite adventures immersing himself in the cultures and people he met. He was a real life beach boy with his tanned skin, light hair, and laid back attitude.
Doug was a devoted family man, and he cherished every moment he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was also an active member of his community, and volunteered his time to the Aurora Cultural Centre among other charities.
Douglas will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a thoughtful, gentle man. A loving and energetic soul who touched the lives of so many. He was a true example of how to live life to the fullest, and he will be remembered for his generous spirit and constant love.
A celebration of life will be held at The Armoury at 89 Mosley Street , Aurora on Sunday, June 11th from 2 - 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Douglas' memory may be made to Plan International or the Canadian Red Cross.
