A voracious reader, camper, golfer, skater, snowmobiler, and all-round Mr. Fixit, he also found time to make crepes, build furniture, and teach himself to play piano and guitar. He was a lifelong learner who was always excited to learn new technology.
Eric was very proud of his grandchildren and loved having deep conversations with them about their lives, education, careers, and current events. A city boy from The Junction, he decided to try camping, and instilled his love of nature in Jeff, Kevin, Alan, Jack, Ryan, Paige, Colin, and Erin, who will treasure the times they spent camping with their parents and grandparents. Eric loved when the family was all together. A hard worker and icon in the steel industry, he nevertheless placed his family first.
Eric maintained his optimism no matter what health problems he had to deal with. The family would like to thank our doctor of 50 years, Dr. Paul Randall, oncologist Dr. Matilda Ng, and neurologist Dr. Levitan, for their professionalism and compassion. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Sandalwood and the Palliative floor at Southlake.
