

BUSSE, Gunter Karl Reinhold - With great sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Gunter Busse on Sunday, August 23, 2015, after spending the weekend with his family at their cottage in Honey Harbour, ON. Gunter was in his 87th year and had a tremendous life that was truly lived to its fullest. He had a passion for politics, economics, fine cuisine and wine, travel, and frequently hosting family and friends at the family cottage. Gunter worked as a freelance photographer for many newspapers and magazines in Germany. He moved to Canada in 1956 and worked as a press photographer for the Globe & Mail. He went on to build a photofinishing company (Continental Photofinishing) with his wife Brigitte, which they owned for 45 years. Gunter was known as a trailblazer in the photography industry. No words can describe how much he will be missed by his wife Brigitte, daughters Marion and Pamela, son Daniel & his wife Susan, granddaughters Yvonne, Michelle & her husband Tamir, Katrin, Jaclyn, Amanda, grandson Ryan, great-grandchildren Cherelle, Robin, Jarod, and Jordan, & all extended family & dear friends. On Friday, August 28, at 12pm, a funeral service will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Pkwy S, Aurora, ON. It will be followed by a burial service and reception. All family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the ALS Society of Canada.
