

Harriette Dewey, aged 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 8, 2018. Daughter of the late Joseph Kil and the late Anna (Rosiejewski) Kil. Born June 2, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana, Harriette and her husband Gerald Joseph Dewey were married in South Bend and settled in Montreal, Quebec from 1968 to 2009, where they raised a family and built a life together. They moved to Welland, Ontario in 2009. Harriette was first and foremost a devoted, loving wife and mother and was an accomplished artist whose paintings were collected by patrons in Canada, United States and abroad. Harriette is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Gerald Joseph Dewey, and her three children: Kevin, (Grace), Rebecca, (Robert), Eric, (Sandra), five lovely grandchildren: Andrew, Roxanne, Amanda, Tanya, Justin, and two great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Everly. She also leaves behind five of thirteen brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews in the United States.
A Celebration of Life ceremony for family and friends to pay homage to her was held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, Ontario L4G 6W8, 905-727-5421 at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018.
