Ilona Tsvetanov

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ilona Tsvetanov on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Newmarket, Ontario. She passed away in the loving care of Southlake Retirement Village and their dedicated team, having lived a long life filled with many joyous moments. Ilona is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Nikola Tsvetanov.

Ilona was born on November 17, 1932, in the town of Novi Becej, Serbia, and was of Hungarian descent. She found immense joy and expression through creating art in many different mediums, a passion that brought vibrant beauty into the world. Ilona also cherished being around people, always bringing a little more joy with her thankfulness and special comments about each individual.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Ivan and his spouse Dianne, and her cherished grandchildren Austin, Darren, Marc, and Nicholas. She will also be deeply missed by her son George and his wife Elizabeth, and her grandchildren Tristan and Katrina. Ilona's warmth, creativity, and gentle spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

As it is often said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life," and Ilona’s art certainly brought light and beauty. She now rests peacefully, having completed her own beautiful journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4, 2025 at 5 p.m. at the King Valley Golf Club, 15675 Dufferin St., King City
