

Jane Ann Wharry passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on August 11, 1942, in Peterborough, Jane lived a life defined by grace, dignity, and timeless elegance. A cherished resident of Aurora, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Douglas Wharry, with whom she shared 53 years of enduring love, companionship, and devotion until his passing on September 8, 2020.
Jane found her greatest happiness in the company of family and lifelong friends, especially during treasured summers at the family cottage on Lake Catchacoma, where laughter, conversation, and tradition created memories to last generations. A gifted homemaker with a natural sense of hospitality, she took great pleasure in cooking and knitting, expressing her affection through thoughtful meals, handmade keepsakes, and the warmth of a welcoming home. She also deeply cherished her years with the ladies of the Ballantrae Bridge Club, whose enduring friendships and spirited gatherings brought her immense joy throughout her life. Whether around her table, at the cottage, or among dear friends at bridge, Jane possessed a rare gift for making others feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and at ease.
Jane is lovingly remembered by her close family and friends. Jane will be remembered for her kindness, poise, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her memory will remain a lasting comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Funeral Service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8, CA, on June 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Reception to follow
Interment will take place at Little Lake Cemetery, 915 Haggart St, Peterborough, ON K9J 2Y1, CA, on June 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
